This policy explains what personal information New Tyre Empire collects when you use our website, call us or book with us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have. Last updated: 15 October 2026.

Who we are

New Tyre Empire is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy:

What we collect and why

When you get a price or book online

Prices and bookings on this website are handled by our online booking system, the tyre checker, which is provided for us by LaunchControl. When you use it you may give us your vehicle registration, vehicle and tyre details, the service and time you want, and your name, phone number and email address. We use this to give you a price, arrange and carry out your booking, and contact you about it. Our lawful basis is that it is necessary to provide the service you have asked for (a contract, or steps before entering one).

If the tyre checker takes a payment, the card payment is handled by a specialist payment provider (such as Stripe) and we never see or store your full card details.

When you call or email us

We use the details you give us (such as your name, number, vehicle and what you need) to answer you and to provide our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to customers, or taking steps towards a contract you have asked for.

Until October 2026 this website had a contact form. Messages sent through it are stored securely and are only used to deal with the enquiry they were about.

Website analytics (only if you accept cookies)

If you choose “Accept All” on our cookie banner, our own analytics system records how the website is used: which pages are viewed, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), your browser, device type and screen size, roughly where you are (country and town), and whether you click “Get a Price” or our phone number. This helps us improve the website. Our lawful basis is your consent.

  • We do not store your IP address. To work out your country and town, your IP address is looked up once with the ip-api.com service and then discarded. What we keep is a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your IP address and changes every month, so you cannot be followed from one month to the next.
  • Analytics data is hosted on our own web server, is not shared with advertisers, and is deleted automatically after 13 months.
  • The tyre checker also records how it is used, and it only does so if you have accepted cookies.

If you choose “Reject All”, none of this happens.

Keeping the website secure and working

Like all websites, our server needs your IP address to send pages to you, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. If the website has a technical error, we log the address of the page, the time and your IP address so we can fix it; these error logs are deleted after 30 days. Requests that look like hacking attempts are blocked and logged, and those logs are deleted after 3 months. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working.

Our map

Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We only use non-essential ones if you agree. You can change your mind at any time:

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with companies that help us run our business and website, who may only use it to provide their service to us:

  • LaunchControl – our online pricing and booking system (the tyre checker)
  • Our payment provider, if you pay online
  • Our website hosting provider in the UK
  • ip-api.com – country and town lookup for analytics (only if you accept cookies; your IP address is not stored)
  • Google – the map on our contact page

We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with the police or HMRC.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Bookings and customer records: for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet legal, insurance and accounting requirements.
  • Analytics: 13 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Website error logs: 30 days. Security logs: 3 months.
  • Old contact form messages: only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
  • ask for it to be sent to another organisation, where that applies
  • withdraw your consent at any time (for cookies, use the “Change cookie settings” button above)

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this page. We will reply within one month. It is free of charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if we change how our website works. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
